My Great Resignation

Jan 1, 2023

In 2019, I planted a seed and started my HR Consulting Firm CMatt Consulting LLC. At the time, I had no plan or no clear vision for the company. In 2020, I resigned from my long-term employer of almost 20 years. I was afraid and still unsure of my vision and next move, I felt like I was missing something. I knew that at some point things would become clearer and I would be ready. In the meantime, I focused on sharpening my tools by exposing myself to different challenges and experiences. Finally, in 2022, I decided to focus exclusively on my vision as a full-time entrepreneur.

The situations that contributed to me leaving my job are not unique, we have heard stories like mine over and over. I am honored to have the opportunity to use my expertise and experience to drive change and influence the employee experience, as well as individual careers goals. Our work experience should be fun, psychologically safe, and efficient, specifically in terms of processes, culture, and leadership. I love helping people find solutions, or helping someone work through complex situations so that they accomplish a goal.

A portion of my work is also centered around Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB), and microaggressions in the workplace. There is a unique experience that black professionals, particularly black women have in the workplace that we need to call out and change.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and traveling. An occasional DIY, or woodworking project is one of my favorite pass times.

I am so excited to let everyone know what I’ve been doing since my “great resignation”!

In 2023, I will have the capacity to take on new clients and coach individuals that are struggling with a career related situation and would benefit from a thought partner to listen and provide actionable solutions.

Spread the word, I am open and ready for business!
